Ogden Preparatory Academy
The main focus of the school board was to develop a joint campus where both the elementary school and junior high could be built. Special consideration needed to be given to ensuring that resources for the space were shared as well as separated for efficiency.
Minimized use of artificial lighting, occupancy/vacancy sensors, rooftop light tubes, advanced air sealing, high-performance window glazing, native landscaping, energy-efficient building materials
In addition to the sustainable features for this location, the storm water retention area was developed beneath the parking lot.
The Ogden Preparatory Academy elementary and Junior high boasts ample playing area for students as well as the ability to host large-scale outdoor events. The schools provide several extra-curricular teams including baseball, cross-country running, soccer, and volleyball. In order to provide the space needed for the soccer field, a neighboring condo project had to be re-platted to re-use and develop the space.
