Client Goals

The flow of traffic for dropping off and picking up students was a top priority of the school board regarding the use by parents and the safety of students. The drainage from nearby elevated properties was also very important.

Sustainable Features

Minimized use of artificial lighting, occupancy/vacancy sensors, rooftop light tubes, advanced air sealing, high-performance window glazing, native landscaping, energy-efficient building materials

Other Information

With limited space, the multipurpose room was designed to act as the gym, auditorium, and the cafeteria. Special consideration was give to the placement and functional elements of this space to accommodate all uses.

Project Description

The site and surrounding area of Leadership Learning Academy was completely undeveloped. In conjunction with the city and the school board this charter school now serves over 500 students and boasts upper-level testing scores within the state and Davis School District.
